Just got my '07 350Z Enthusiast coupe, and naturally, I love the car. But what's with the tiny dashboard storage compartment? It's too small for CD's or anything else I can think of. What do you experienced Z owners use it for?

I had the same question, it's kinda useless, nothing of use really fits in it. I guess if you had an aftermarket stereo with i-pod an hookup, you could run the cable up to the compartment so you could put the i-pod in there. Other than that, not too much going to fit in it.

That's where the stock navigation system is supposed to go . If ya don't have nav, than it's just a good place for sunglasses and garage door openers .

Yeah, I knew that, we were just talking about the Z's without the Nav. I guess Navigation would have been nice, but, I would never use it....besides, I can't stand Bose head units!! I wish Nissan/Infiniti would stop using Bose and switch to Alpine or something that is actually good. Anyway, too bad they didn't make the compartment big enough for CDs, that would have been nice.

I used it to custom mount a Mio GPS that I purchased for $199.99 and hard wired behind the dash to give it that OEM wire free look. It also leaves me room for the remote for the Pioneer MP3/CD Bluetooth phone stereo that I installed.

Nice place for wallet, phone, if you are still running the OEM Boooooooose.

I used mine to house an Alpine touch screen monitor for my DVD player.

I personally think the Z has a good amount of compartment storage...the glove compartment being behind the passenger seat is a little odd, but there's the 2 compartments behind the seat and another compartment next to the cupholders. The only thing I don't like about the interior are the cupholders -too small; otherwise, I love my Z.

I mounted a nuvi gps in there. Had to use a other model (garmin) mount so the door would close. But now it is consealed and save half of what the factory would have been. Plus if I ever need to use in in another car I can.
