I am hoping someone can help me here. The dashboard lights will not go out in my 1996 Q-45. The ones under the dash and my door lights. I have tried setting the factory alarm system thinking that could be the problem but it is just draining the battery. I have put a new battery, alternator and starter in this car within 2 weeks.

Welcome to NICO! I would suspect that it's a faulty door switch. This could be as simple as a switch that's not grounding properly. I would try unscrewing and reattaching the switches and see if that gets you anywhere. Did the problem start with any of the part replacements you mentioned? You might also browse your car's factory service manual - available at www.infinitiservicemanual.com for other ideas.

Hello and welcome aboard.

You said "dashboard lights" so I assume this is the instrument cluster. Do other lights like around your shifter, window switches, headlights, parking lights etc... stay on as well while this is happening?

What happens to those lights if you adjust the dimmer switch?

We are yet to see the resolution to this maybe-related issue: 2003-instrument-cluster-light-going-out-t616102.html

I don't think the '96 and '03 have anything in common in this case... Although, by '96 there were some LAN controls being integrated - so it could be more along the same lines.
