Hi,

Thanks

Try looking in your owners manual. On my 06 G35 the dashboard dimmer control is next to the trunk release button. I think this is what you are looking for?

If you're asking if when the lights come on the interior lights dim, thats just the way it is. I turned the brightness up all the way but it only makes the center console lights slightly easier to read. If your dash lights are COMPLETELY off, then the switch on the new g's is on the left hand side of the speedo, just push the button on the top until it says max in the little info display box, and everything is as bright as it will go.

** EDIT** There is also no way for the center console lights to be on as bright as they are when your headlights are off when your headlights are on.

hope this helps.

if things are the same in my car, the dash lights are off during the day. the newer G dashes are backlit during the day. there are two buttons on the binncale (housing of the gauges) that you can press to brighten or darken the dash lights. the day setting may be too dim for you to notice. thats my best guess.

Try the + button to the left of your steering wheel

After reading it more it sounds like you want the back light on the LCD screen to be on when you automatically turn your headlights on during the day time.

No way to do it. It always jumps to that annoying really dim setting.

This is not true for my 05. There is a dimmer switch on the left near my VDC button. If your headlights are on and you push it to it's 1st stop, it's bright, but still dimmer than without the headlights on. If you push it past the 1st stop, it gets as bright as when the headlights are off.

Not in the new cars. I have the dimmer set to "brightest" and the LCD is still dim as hell if I flick on my headlights during the day.

LOL, yeah its frustrating when the car thinks it's dark outside so it flips the lights on then boom, can't see my little readout. Doesn't happen too often though so oh well.

I may be misunderstanding this. So forgive me if that's the case.... I believe you can turn off autodimming on the 07+. Just press the "sun/moon" button" below the LCD screen to turn off autobrightness when the headlights turn on during the day.
