Hey Guys!

I woke up this morning to find the top of my dashboard on the passenger side where the airbag module is located to have a slight layer of condensation. I've never had this happen before. I purchased my V in May and this is the first winter it's gone through. It snowed yesterday evening up to 2 feet here in Middle Tennesee, and I'm wondering why there would be condensation on my dashboard. Funny thing is that it's not all over my dash, just on the passenger side airbag module. It almost looks to be a powdery substance until you run your hands over it. ANY IDEAS???

Also, is it me or does the windows take freakin' forever to defrost? Even with the A/C on at full blast. My windshield takes a while and won't maintain a clear view unless you have it on the 3rd or 4th speed constantly. Don't even get me started about my two front door windows because they take almost the end of my 17 mile drive to work to finally get clear. It seems my passenger side door window get defrosted twice as fast as my driver window.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Looks like another visit to my dealership for warranty repair.

I saw that on my versa also...Its been getting down to ~34 at night the past couple of nights and also noticed the same symptoms but didnt think to much of it.

Im sure its one of the features that come along with quality build of the versa.

Are you slid over into outside air and is the compressor running a/c button lit?

Alright, before you all go on a rampage about poor build quality (believe it or not, even the most "prestigious" vehicles have quality and design problems from time to time). This is not a ***** forum where you can just come here to bash either the Nissan company or the Versa. This forum is designed to be a neutral forum where you come for answers or suggestions to problems you may have, or to contribute constructive ideas/tips/tricks, etc.

That said.

What you are experiencing is often caused by moisture accumulating within the car. This is often caused by water leaks, windows left open during rain storms, snow coming off your shoes as you enter the car, or humid air coming in from the outside while driving in a rain storm. I would suggest checking for water pooling in the spare tire area or under the carpeting. Be sure to check under the dash for any signs of water. Water leaks are typically covered under the one year warranty. You can also try opening the windows on a dry day and taking a drive, then, close the windows and how this doesnt happen again.

If you bought your car used, it may have been in a flood. Best of luck!

[/quote]When it gets down to minus 34 you can complain!

Had the car almost a year now, starting the second winter that is indeed winter . . . and haven't had that problem at all. Front and side windows clear.

Get a hairdryer and hit the area. It'll get rid of it.. Also works on headlights and watches.. Easy fix.

I leave the window down a 1/4" overnight, this helps the moisture to escape the cabin, due to our breathing etc, & more people in the car the more moisture, so if you just close the door & window up the moist air is trapped, thus freezes to the windows. Even my hockey gear after the game gives out moist air. Do the window trick it works!!!

I spotted a Jeep and a new MINI MK II last night parked on the street with heavy, heavy condensation in the front windows. Temps dropped last night to -11C. Moisture just gets trapped inside (any car) from time to time. Keep the cabin slid over to outside air and the a/c button lit.

My V has condensation winter and summer times, my windows fogg up, but thats only because its cold inside and I am warm so it creates this condensation.
