dash warning light check

Hello all -

Does anyone know if there is a test that will illuminate every lamp on the instrument panel to test functionality? I have a couple that I feel may be burned out - the service engine soon light in particular.

Another option...on a late 2001 (build date 7-01), should this particular light come on with the ignition and then go off when the car starts?
