dash trim problem...

the other day i was trying to remove the dash peices around the gauge cluster...the problem is that the lever for the adjustable steering wheel gets in the way...what's the easiest way around it?

damn I knew I should have asked this question when I was doing my interior swap....I definately cracked my gauge bezel while trying to take it out and put it back in...**** :P
