My S13 dash is basically shot, bunch of cracks and what not. Is there anyway a S14 dash will fit without serious work? I have HUD, but don't care of I lose it with the change.

I have seen it done before and I personally dont like how it lines up with the door panels. There was a pic. on zilvia.net a while back in the forums but I don't remember where. I will look.

Also I am not sure what is entailed in the install but, I believe it is about the same width without cutting or extending.

Good luck and tell me how it goes.

Did you ever consider just recovering your S13 dash. It is just vinyl. Cheap and easy to work with. Just use a spray adhesive.

B240 throw that kit away. They suck! Best bet is looking around junkyards and find one with no cracks. I found one for $125 that im gona buy. Easy way to stops cracks it take some baby lotion and rub it on. My dad did this with his 83 280ZX that sits in the sun all the time and the dash looks like new. You can do this on a old dash with no cracks in it to keep it from cracking.

Yes, the dash is probably plastic upon closer inspection. I would still think you could cover it with thin vinyl. I would go to a fabric store or a textile store in your area if you can find one and look at the vinyl they have. That will give you an idea of how similar it will look when done.

If you want to procede and recover the dash with it, take your time and fit it to your dash before you use any adhesive. I think that spray adhesive should work just fine.

If you think you will mess this up at all then buy that black dash from slw240sx and do that one. If you like how it looks, put it in your car. This could be the time to do some fun custom stuff like embossing your name on the dash, or making new mounts for extrra guages if you need that.

Good luck. If you have any other really technical questions, like what glue to use on such and such a plastic, call an apholtery(sp?) shop. I am sure they will be helpfull.

What would be better, the baby oil or armor all?

Armor All is formulated for the materials in your car. I don't know about baby oil, and we don't know what materials it will or will not work on.

I would go armor all just to be on the safe side but, whatever floats your boat.

dont go with armor all. Its complete s***! It was what caused a major crack in my dash. A week after i did up my dash with armor all a huge crack came out of no where. Ive also heard it many times from friends that work a car washs detailing that they will not or are not even allowed to use armorall to detail. **** armor all **** it in its stupid ***.
