hey guys. . . i apologize if anyone gets upset with the questions i ask. i feel like everyone does because i get maybe 1 response at all to them. .haha . i have tried to find the info i need on this site already and its never quite what im looking for. . . i have been trying the past 2 weeks to get my Rb s13 to run "RIGHT". ive deffinately made progress, but when it comes to wiring, im horrible at it...

with that being said, my issue is that my tach, speedo, and temp guages do not work. . I KNOW that there is a connector on the rb harness that plugs in s13 dash harness right under the glove box? well, the dash plug on the rb harness is white and what i think is the s13 dash plug, is brown? the 2 do not connect, and i was under the impression that its supposed to be plug and play?? :wtf2: this rb20 has been wired in to a s13 before so EVERYTHING i would think should be plug and play. maybe im looking at the wrong thing? . . i am a noob at wiring and slowly, slowly learning because i "HAVE" to. . i need help badly because this is supposed to b my daily driver soon, and its turning in to stress on top of all the other kinks im trying to work out on the car.i need to know if my car overheats before i proceed to drive and mess with it more . i appreciate any help offered. THANX...

No the white dash plug should not plug into the s13 one, and even if you wire it up the gauges still do not work i have tried it, there is a way to make the tach work just not sure how, if i was you i would just get an R32 gauge cluster and make a jumper harness from that white plug to the back of the gauge cluster.

yeah man, i dont see getting an r32 cluster happening any time soon.... there has to be a way, my last rb car had all working gauges as well as my other friends that have them to. . id ask them but no one ever answers the phone.lol. . so yeah, im trying to do this on my own. . . i swear i though you just had to repin or rewire a few wires, and the 2 conectors would clip into each other, or wire it all together without using a connector? idk...

okay also, i just got off the phone with one of my local shop buddies... and the brown connector down by the glove box area, i was talking about, is the dash plug? and then you got the rb dash harness plug. . well apparently after you rewire a few wires for it to work the connectors should plug together.?? mine dont, so i was told it was a single cam car. . witch is funny because i thought it was a twin cam car. :wtf2: atleast thats wut was in it, but you never know i guess. can i wire the wires STRAIT to each other? or is that janky and need to find another ka dash plug? anything to make it work guys. thanx again....

The brown plug is the dash plug on the s13, and there is no way that the rb dash plug will plug into it, your best bet is to find a stock s13 harness and cut the plug off and wire it to your rb harness.

oh man. . preciate it. . . someone in the posts above hooked me up with the write up for the actual wiring so i think i can handle that. . . just get another plug that will connect to the rb one and thats it then?? :dblthumb:

I don't recall having to perform any modifications to the cluster harness. Only tach modification and a speed-sensor swap. .. maybe I'm wrong?

Its not just a simple put the wires together and the gauges work you have to wire in resistors and a bunch of other stuff it is a pain in the a**.
