i have a 91 240sx it has a s14 motor and transmission idk if that matters but im experiencing no tail lights no turn signals and no parking lights and no dash lights also no interior lights windows dont work but i think thats cuz i dont have the switches lol idk what could be causeing the problem but my windshield wipers come on with my headlights and go faster when my turn signal is on or my hazards are on the wiper switch does nothing but say its not raining and my wipers drag and slow down to almost a stop the dash lights come on i have no radio so i know its not the illumination wire or whatever i read about in another post also the tail light fuse in the fuse box inside the car blows almost instantly after putting a new one in if there is anything else some1 needs to know to give a good answer just ask new nico member show some love haha not new to 240s any info will be great

i would also like to know why my temp gauge is not working sending unit is new and gauge has be tested the i was told by some1 on here a while back

P.S. if u have the no tail lights problem you could wire up tail lights like i did it was a temp fix but i cant find out how to fix the problem ive had my lights wired for over a year now just run a hot to the hot on tail light housing with a switch

You have an electrical gremlin, but you've messed with the wiring harness? More than likely you have a short somewhere that's blowing your fuse. Find that in the harness and fix it.

Your other issues with the wipers and turn signals sounds like a bad timing control unit.

the seatbelt controller is under the center console and it uses a 12v feed wire on the same circuit as the TCU and interior lights. However, the tail lights and parking lights get their 12v from another circuit.

the retractable seat belts work fine they open when the door is open i found on here a forum about checking the light switch where the prongs make contact and they all did what they were supose to do except the middle one did nothing im sure u know its the tail light prong but it got contact i went on a 30 min search for shorts nothin under the dash was out of place a few plugs that i have no idea where they go was just chillen but i only removed the kick panel and kinda eyeballed some things pulled the tape off of some wires coming from the headlight switch they looked fine however i was under the hood and found on the driver side the harness wire group coming through the rad support was alittle worn so i peeled back some of the tape and some of the wires were spliced they were all to the corresponding colors red to red green to green and so on could any of those be part of the light circuit also could the seatbelt controller be causing these problems and any idea what circuit is the tail lights getting power from or where to start looking

thanks for your help by the way i really appreciate it

ps the tcu is the white box near the fuse panel inside the car right?

update: the spliced wires are part of the harness thats goes under the driver fender the wires that are spliced go from being one wire to two wires going to the fender idk if this could be cuz of the motor swap or possibly cuz it might have been an auto b4 the swap idk any suggestions would be appreciated thanks to any who help
