My 06 m35 has just over 50,000 miles. last week i came outside to take my kids to school and the car started fine although the dash nor any electronics worked on the center console. Only lights that were on were the key light and VDC, cause I turn it off manually. Seat and steering wheel would not adjust to setting until i put key in port.
I took it to the dealer and they said a bunch of "Battery Codes" popped up which may be caused by my aftermarket parts. I have an amp and sub, which has been in for over a year and never had an issue, and I also have a GTR start button. No other electronics.
Anyone have any insight?

The next, easy step is to see if you can reset the ECU (I guess by unplugging the battery for a while?). If you took it to the dealer, they may have already done this unless they lied to you and just gave you some s*** answer.

If resetting the ECU doesn't work, maybe getting a new battery might magically fix all this.

If that doesn't work either, some deeper thinking will be involved. Nobody likes that!

If the car starts and drives fine I dont think it would be an ECU issue. More of something like a fuse being blown or some sort of loose connection in the connector wiring for the dashboard. Since the dash area and center console electronics dont work, I am leaning more towards blown fuse or two. But it would be weird for the VDC and key light to still work in either of those cases...

Go to the fuse box located on the driver side kick panel. In the bottom row, you will see three red 10a fuses in a row. When I had a dark dash, those fuses needed to be replaced. (I blew them trying to manipulate LED bulbs in the dome light - with the driver door open and juice flowing to them). I lost the dash, the seats, and the mirrors.
