Has anyone figured out a way (and documented, photographically) how to place a dash-mounted GPS and hide the power cable successfully?

Just bought a brand new Coupe and couldn't find one in my area with an in-dash GPS. I really wanted one, because i don't like having the power cable getting in the way. Multiple dealers told me that, because of all of the natural disasters overseas, no one could get any Nissan with a Bose GPS.

Yes, i've done a search, but those i found were too old to have the photos still available.

I have a TomTom with the EasyPort suction cup/clip. I tried mounting that to the cubby hole cover and it doesn't get enough signal.

My thought is to mount it to the window on the left side of the steering wheel and then run the cable under the dash to some kind of power source.

There are no holes or access into the power point inside the cubby hole from the back, so i would be looking for an alternate way to power the GPS (and make sure it turns off when the car does) or find alternate access to the power point in the cubby hole from the back.

Pull off your A-Pillar and run the power cord down in behind the dash through the center and into the cubby. Done.

Thanks, but i won't actually have to do that. I'll place the GPS on the dash behind the driver side window AC vent and the cable should be able to run between the dash and the door.

I found this article through google search; simple-portable-gps-or-radar-detector-i ... 61668.html

Why it didn't come up while searching here, but it's exactly what i need. If i can find the parts and get it to work, i'll post a new tutorial.

While it works it's messy. The A-Pillar simply pulls out. Takes 2 minutes. Then all the cables/wires are hidden and looks clean. I'll post a pic tonight, it's how I ran the cables for my gauges and SAFC. Looks a lot better, but up to you.

Sorry just got this done today. Fish the wires down there. Everything hidden. Wires will come out under the dash. Run them over. Done.
