Ok i have a HUD gauage cluster, last night when i was driving home the lights that light up the gauge cluster and show my gas, rpms ect. wouldnt turn on. My HUD still works so i kno how fast im goin, just the gauge cluster lights dont work. Im thinking it might be a fuse, but is it a fuse from under thedash board, or maybe a relay? Any ideas of what it may be would be helpful too. Thanks- Shaun

I had this happen to me this past summer. Check your fuses inside the car with a fuse tester. Then if that doesn't work, it's your TCU(time control unit), dimmer switch or a short in the wiring. The TCU is expensive if you buy it form a dealer, but I got mine for $25 from a junkyard. It's pretty much just a trial and error thing, unless you take it to the dealer and have them tell you whats wrong with it.

If you installed a new head unit that is 99% of the time going to be your problem. The factory amps need to be bypassed inorder to preserve the TCM unit. Someone should find a good link/write up on how to properly wire a new head unit and sticky it because it seems lots of you guys are having issues with this lately. At this rate there wont be any junkyard TCM's left and everyone will have to learn some very tricky soldering skills or get raped by dealerships. Do a search on wiring the stereo for proper connections.
