Dash Lights / Tail Light Issues

Hello. Having problems w/ my 2001 Nissan Maxima.My dash lights won't turn on or my tail lights. I have the lights set to "Auto" and the button on the mirror is set to "Auto" as well. I've tried setting the lights to just "on" and all the other settings, but nothing. I've tried adjusting the dimmer for the interior. Is there some short or something or what could be causing this? What makes this weird, is they work sometimes, or turn on as i am arriving at my destination. But 90% of time they will stay off.

it sounds like its just your fuses.

check your fuses in the dash located next to your left knee/shin as if you were sitting in the driver seat.

you can also check your bulb/light fuses under the hood....in the black plastic boxes on the left and right far side of your engine compartment.
