Hello Guys,

I'm a new member on Nico I just wanted to see if someone can give a tip on solving my current problem
I have a European 200sx S13 with a RB20DET swap my problem is my dash lights aren't lighting up
I've seen many posts saying that;'s the TCU I opened my kick panel to see if I can find the TCU
but I can't find it I know it's a white box with a harness attached to it but I can't find it the only thing I see
is a black box .

any ideas?
I really really appreciate your help.

Hey man, I literally just went through this today.

Okay so you need to find that TCU box, its behind the driver side kick panel, near the fuse box, to the left, screwed into the body by a small metal bracket. If its not there, see if you have a connector for one sitting nearby, because that's the issue, otherwise post a picture of what you have.

Another common problem is that the dimmer switch goes bad, so what you can do in that scenario is jump the left most connectors using a paper clip. Its ghetto, its stupid, but it beats not being able to read your speedo at night...

Okay so with that said, here's what you are looking for:

On the back of the board, this is what typically burns out:

You can try to jump it using a soldering iron:

I did not have any luck with that and ended up just calling a buddy of mine to get a new TCU, I've heard rumors of success but I can't find any evidence. However, I now have dash lights.

Keep me posted and I'll do my best to help you out!

Did you unplug the cluster recently? I assume you've checked the fuse. Its the same one as the dome light I believe. If you disconnected the cluster before you undid the battery you probably blew the fuse. I did that last week trying to test a dohc cluster in my buddies dohc swapped 90. Check the easy stuff first. If that doesnt work its definitely the tcu
