Dash Lights......

Hey I own a 1990 240sx with a sohc. Ive been working on this car for 2 years now and have worked out all the bugs and have gotten down to the stupid stuff.

I noticed some of the dash lights on my car dont come on and the odometer doesnt always work and im annoyed with this.I got 2 more lights to come back on and i found out the motor powering the odometer is worn out. But the oil light doesnt light up when i turn the key half way and im pretty sure it supposed to.

Anyways could some of you guys with240's like mine tell me what lights light up in your car when you turn the key half way, it would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I just need one of you with to go in your garage turn your ignition to the half way position and tell what lights on the speedometer light up. like the brake light, engine light, battery, seatbelt, you know. Ive been trying to get this oil light back on and I cant and im sure its supposed to come on.

please help.

Brake, Oil, Battery, & Seat belt come on in my car when the key is half way. Mine's a 1990 sohc

Thank you so much ive had the car apart for 3 days now and been waiting for someone to answer me. so the oil does need to come on im gonna take another look and see why they it isnt

Could be the bulb, try switching with a known good one.

I found out what it was... i kept takin the bulbs outa the workin sockets and switchin then to the oil light and it still wouldnt come on i got frusturated and tore the whole damn thing apart to look at the board and come to find out its got spots on it that are burnt and black so im pretty sure thats the issue.

Guess i need a new speedometer if i wanna fix a stupid light.

or you can reconnect those spots by soldering in small wires or conductive patches on the lines...i mean if its just for lighting

id only replace entire cluster if speed doesnt work or something like that
