Infiniti QX4 2002 - When my headlights are in 'auto' mode and I turn the truck off all my dash lights remain on. This is even when the key is completely removed. This would be all the lights that illuminate just before you turn the ignition all the way to engage the starter. If I turn the head lights to the off position all the lights shut off. If I forget to do that the battery will drain down to zero. I removed the steering column shroud while all the lights were illuminated and disconnected the harness from the ignition switch. The lights still remained on. I have been getting by by ensuring I turn the headlights off. I have a short somewhere. Any advice from anyone. Thanks.

I copied the following from https://carfromjapan.com/article/car-ma ... oved-mean/
"Many car owners are facing a strange issue these days. When they turn off the ignition of the car and remove the key, somehow the dashboard lights are still on. It has left many car owners wondering about what could cause this issue. Car experts recommend that if the lights are on even when the key to the ignition is taken out, the majority of times it is an issue with the ignition switch. One of the reasons why dash lights stay on after key is removed includes a short in the control module for the lights."

Thanks or the info. I will check out the control module for the lights. I tested the ignition switch and it seemed ok.
