so i need help here. my gauge lights dont work. the seatbelt light and engine fuel light all come up, but as soon as i turn on my lights, the gauge cluster goes dark. i checked all my fuses and my tailights work.

are my bulbs just burnt out? =.= i have a feeling that might just be the problem...

pop out your dimmer switch from the dash and test the wires with a test lamp. you dont state what car you have, but on my 95 you have to remove the trim, then press the 2 tabs in and pull the dimmer switch out from the front. 3 wires, 2 are positive. if you dont have any juice you have a fuse issue or a wiring issue. i couldnt figure mine out so i had to run my own positive wire to the switch (which was the first positive). if you have power to your switch and you still arent getting lights then you have a cluster issue, which could be burnt bulbs or maybe the switch has a bad ground itself. its your only problems at this point i belive.

i have a 240sx s13 chuki. so DOHC. ive tried the dimmer switch. aside from my dash lights working, the speedo is out too...

Check my website, I had a similar problem and it was a bad diode in the cluster. Make sure to check all the other things already mentioned before you go that far.....
