I decided to install one of those ignition lights on my 89 s13 (two wires). I was told to tap into a black wire plug on right side of steering column under a purple wire and also the solid red wire with blue stripe. Did so and the lil ignition key light came on just fine ( i only used connectors and didnt have them wrapped...)

i just stuffed everything back in and i heard like a pop noise and the bulb went out . . . i think the power wire may have grounded out somewhere. i thought it sounded like the bulb blew, but i checked it on battery and it worked fine.

Dash lights didnt work that night. I soldered the wires back together leaving the ignition key light off this time and put everything back the way i had it . . .

now - dash light doesnt work - my autozone boost gauge doesnt light up ( but everything else functions . .boost gauge, speedo, tach, other warning lights )

do i need to replace the time control unit ? (lil white box by kick panel)or do i need to look at something else?

HELP - cant see s*** at nighttime

FIXED!!! also noticed my fans and tail lamps weren't coming on so i checked the fuse by the kick panel for blown fuses under the tail lamps and, sure enough, it was blown!!

tail lamps now work (didnt know they were out), dash lights and boost light works, and fan now kicks on(didnt know it was out til later)R

damn fuses
