Dash lights gone!!! need help

Bought an 89 240sx for my girlfriend and whoever ripped the stereo out lost the dash lights. A mechanic then fixed the problem but they are out again. I need to know what fuses to check first of all and if the fuses are alright I was wondering if anyone knew what wires I had to check behind the dash. The stero is out so I can get to anything pretty easily, just don't know what wires I am looking for

check all your fuses with a test light. if they are all good you may have a bad timer control unit. It is located behind your left kick panel its a white box. if you know how to soldier your can take it apart and find the burnt trace on the board and repair it.
