Dash Lights, Dimmer Switch?

My Dash Lights went out, use to tap the dash board they come back on. Now they are just out.... I was told it;s the dimmer switch (Illumination)..I have my service Manual Can't find any thing on Dimmer switch, Or don't know where to look....Help Please!!!

Welcome to NICO Barbara. You're a step ahead of most noobs in that you have a copy of the Factory Service Manual (FSM) and have looked at it. I own a Q45 but I think I can send you off in the right direction.

The two parts you talk about are referred to in the FSM as the Illumination Switch and the Combination Meter. Troubleshooting for both can be found in the electrical system (EL) section of your FSM. On about page EL-34 there should be Interior Lamp and Meter and Gauges descriptions. The diagnosis looks like a lot of work and if it was me I'd swap in a used illumination switch and be done with it.

I have a few illumination switches from Q45's if you think you need one. Take a look at the pic in the link to see if they are the same. You can e-mail em if you're interested.
