I just wanted to add to this thread. If you inspect your time control unit and you don't see anything wrong, it could be that you didn't look good enough of you looked on the wrong area. The burned line on the TCU is on the printed circuit board, it's not of one of the resistors and stuff, look at the back of the tcu at the green lined verrrry carefully and you should see a small burn that severed the line.

I took it to a stereo place and I guess there are tons of burned wires, someone did an incorrect job of installed the alarm. They're installing a NEW alarm and replacing all the burnt wires for $350. Oh well..
