dash lights are out Help!

So, I'm driving on the highway and all of suddenly all the dash lights go out. So I pulled over and as I hit my brakes the dashboard lights came on again. As soon as I released the brake pedal they were out . Upon further investigation, I have noticed that the parking lights are out as well. But the brake lights work fine. I have checked the fuse for the parking lights and and the bulbs but, they seem to functioning fine. I wonder whats going on. Any ideas?

Anywho..... get up in the brake pedal area, take down the plastic cladding (3 screws and then just pull it down) and inspect the area for bad things in the wiring or something... When you say the dash lights, do you mean the instrument cluster or like everything, like the HU and stuff like that???

<--------- Obviously not the brightest bean. I turns out I had simply blown a fuse. I had checked all of the fuses in my cabin but there were some fuses that were vertical instead of horizontal. So I simply assumed they were extras. Ooops. Anyway, thanks for all the great data. I appreciate it.

If it was the "ILL" fuse, check your brake lamp sockets for melting and corrosion. I took out that fuse several times before replacing the socket assembly.

Thanks Heath. Are you talking about the connector that connects directly to the main brakelights and indicator etc.?

Take the bulbs out and chekc that.....
