Dash lights and Brake lights!

Three nights ago my 93's dash lights and brake lights went out until I press the brakes but then when I let off the brakes the lights go back out. At first I thought it was a bulb but I think it something worse then that now. If anyone can help please let me know.

Sounds like you have a short in your harness somewhere. Perhaps Minister of Doom (our resident 3rd gen guru) can give you some insight as to where to look.

Sorry, I haven't been able to figure out exactly what would cause this...Have you checked your fuses? It looks like the brake light and instrument light circuits share a fuse...

thanks for the info but I have checked all the fuses and grounds and bulbs. I do know about the relay in the shift console and about the brake switch on the brake pedel so which ever is the chepest is what I will being doing next.
