I have an 08 altima 2.5 SL. I want to add a 7" touch screen but i have auto climate controls. I have talked to alot of people and looked forever and cant find a dash kit. I have however seen pics online of people with aftermarket screens and auto climate. How has this been achieved?

This link shows some factory, some aftermarket and some total custom. Anyone know how i can achieve this?

the dash with the blue carbon fiber has a factory radio in it. the car with the grey carbon fiber probably has a metra kit that is covered with this dash kit. I think you would have to get the metra kit for your radio. someone on this forum said they used the nissan dash kit but had to make some modifications to it.

So based off of that thread they are saying i could go in order the dash piece factory that has bose with nav and it should fit my car fine. Then i should be able to install a 2 din set up nav screen of my choice into it? Even with my auto climate controls. At most i would have to dremel a slight spot here and there for the climate controls and possibly find some brackets? I am getting lost through all this. I have never had such a hard time installing a stereo.

No, the dash kits in that thread (like the carbon fiber/wood grain) are all aftermarket. You would want to install the double din head unit with the metra kit for auto climate controls. Then you would overlay the carbon fiber look (or whatever you choose) on top of that. There is currently NO available option for an aftermarket head unit installed on an OEM look trim piece for auto climate control vehicles. I'll put it in picture form. These are pretty much your only options (besides custom manufacturing something):

Metra Dash Kit

Metra Kit with Overlay (sorry Doc, ripped off your picture):

3 dash kits to choose from: NN1642B SCOSCHE dash kit / bkndk727 best kits (AI INC) / and metra kit. There's also the OEM Nissan dash panel setup.

So I have a question since I'd like to get a touch screen system in my ride as well...I don't have the nav system, and I don't have auto climate controls. I realize I'd have to order the dash piece from nissan...is there anything else I'd need?

In addition to the dash kit you'd need the appropriate wiring harnesses (will likely come with the HU purchase) and a PAC steering wheel adapter if you want to maintain the ability to use the steering wheel buttons to control the head unit. That should be everything.

I don't have the steering wheel controls either, I was more concerned with there being mounting brackets that might be different. Thanks Apple for the help with it (you helped tons by me reading your previous posts)

I do what I can. Any more problems, let me know. As far as the brackets go, you should be able to use the ones that are in the car currently.

Right now the only problem I'm having is selling my amp so I can get one of those touch screens for the car, I dunno if you can help with that!

I can't really help too much with that. Try eBay or maybe Craigslist or something. You can usually pawn off most old products to someone just entering the mobile A/V scene looking for a deal.
