Dash doesnt work

I am buying a salvage g35 coupe. The dash doesnt light up and the air conditioner/heater controls, navi and radio are gone. Where do I start? The car runs and drives but if i cant see the temp and engine vitals I am leary on driving it. Thanks and any help will be appreciated.

Its most likely a fuse. Check the fuse box by the pedals and if I remember right, its one of the fuses in the middle. I can check for you in the morning.

I will go pick the car up on Tuesday. What if it isnt a fuse? The guy Im getting it from said something may have been damaged when they stole the navi and radio. Is there a troubleshooting guide I can look at on the net? I cant find anything unless I purchase a manual.

I checked my fuse box and it was the meter fuse in the box located by the pedals. If its not the fuse, then it could be that the BCM is fried, or maybe the dash dimmer is just turned down, or maybe the bulbs burnt out?

The meter fuse is blown, but the car has some other problems. The windows dont work. Where is the fuse for the power windows. The car is worse than i thought. There are exposed wires everywhere but I have taped them up but have a few more to go but it got dark on me. I will start again tomorrow morning. Call me 901-647-5463 and lets talk if you have any info or a place I can get a wiring diagram.

If I were you, I'd check every single fuse just in case. As for the windows, it could be the motor that's bad, since the window motor is known to break down for the G. But here are some links that you might be able to use.

you mentioned that the radio/navi was stolen? Instead of replacing with OEM, you should get the JDM double-din finisher and get an aftermarket headunit since OEM Bose headunit sucks anyways.

The windows must have a short. I got the passenger window up and the drivers side went down and goes all the way back up and comes down about 6 inches and stops after it goes all the way up. I had to "bump" the window switch to make it go up and stay up. Also when the car was vandalized I guess they tried to steal the whole dash. It is loose. Anyone know where I can get a diagram on where the bolts go so I can bolt it back up and take it for a spin?

the window coming down 6in after all the way up is a common issue with the window regulator. good luck and get some pics!

You stated this was a salvage car. Was the dash enough of a cost to make it so or is there something else involved?

I did a carfax and car was in an accident and rebuilt so it has a salvage title. Previous owner added the wheels, hks exhaust and some other items right before the car was broken into and navi and some interior pieces were stolen. Apparently the insurance company thought the electrical problems were bad enough to total the car out and it was sold at auction.

Can anyone help??? I have a mechanic working on the car...he got a wiring harness and cut off the needed plugs and got a nav/ac/radio unit but there are about 8 wires that he doesnt have a plug for and nothing will power up. He did get the navs dvd player to take and eject a disc but that is all. Also there is a 16 slot plug (but it only has around 6 wires in it) under the steering column that he doesnt know where it goes. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
