Dash Camera

I am fairly new to North America and one of my biggest fear in traffic is having an accident , not my fault and no witnesses . That is why I really want to have a dashboard camera.

1. There are extremely expensive ones ($250-300 with GPS etc)
2. There are ridiculously cheap ones (Made in China, $40-50)

What do you think? Do you have any camera in your car?

This is assuming the person that hits you does not take responsibility for the accident and won't give their insurance or information. Personally, it's thinking to much about the what-if's.

I say a good digital camera for after the fact is good enough. And most phones can take pix's.
