so i figured since all my other lights are dark why not have my headlights join the party.

i bought a roll of window screen from an industrial liquidator for like $2.50

popped out my headlights and pancaked two layers of screen between the headlights and the ring that holds them in,,,,turned out better than i expected, dont notice a difference at all at night.

Wow, friendly response. It's just a 2 dollar piece of screen, no sense in cutting the guys balls off over it. Go back to etiquette class noob.

stupid noob is stupid.....

as far as the screen... i wouldn't personally do it.... the one thing i'd never want to be darker is my headlights... if anything i'd keep them clear and get HID's for night or something

I've never been a fan of blacked out lights. Aside from the subjective opinions of the aesthetics, tinted lights mean less light output. In the case of using screen material, ultimately, its still going to be blocking some level of light. Might be minimal, but still there. However, I'd dread long trips with the screens in place. Cleaning bug guts from it isn't going to be fun.

There used to be a couple of lights (sealed beam conversions) on the market that used to have a tinted look without any loss of light output. It worked kind of like the sunglass lenses that darken or lighten with light (not sure what it was designed to respond to though). I think Hella had made it where the glass was coated and Philips blacks out the reflector. AFAIK though, both are no longer available. Hella does make an auxiliarry light that does this though. Its the only "blacked out" lighting that I'd find acceptable from a technical standpoint.
