ive been leaking oil/gettting smoke coming from under neath my car, now out of my exhaust too lol i think my turbo has now gone bad. but i was looking into where the oil drip was from, there is a small layer of oil all over the drivers side block and some transmission below the head.

im thinking maybe a oil line to the turbo is leaking somewhere or possibly maybe i blew my headgasket (im only running about 8.5-9psi) and havent over heated yet) and that is causing oil to come out.

there is some oil on the bottom side of where my dow pipe and the o2 pipe meet, i cant follow a trace of oil any where that leads to it, it seems as if it just magically got there. i guess tomorw im jsut gona start pulling stuff apart and looking over in that area to see if anytihng is leaking.

if any one has any suggestion go ahead as always im very open for help:)

im thinking about just hooking up sometihng to the throttle body and running it as is it were n/a and letting it idle with nothing after the head yes i know it will be loud.

maybe its also a valve cover gasket gonna put a new one of those on and se if it helps/stops.

uuuhhhh

Clean it all up with degreaser and see for yourself. It can be too many things to just guess-timate, so to play it safe, you'll have to do a clean-up and pay attention to the area in question.

Just as Dee said. Clean as much of it up as possible. If you get it clean enough, you should be able to tell where the oil is coming from.

When you say idle it with nothing after the head, do you mean with no exhaust manifold? If so, A.) The car won't really run, and B.) You will burn up your exhaust valves very fast. and C.) It's going to be hard to see the oil with fire shooting out of the head.

i had a ca once and it did the same thing, does it look like it might be coming from the back of the motor? My turbo smoked a little bit but I think I had a bad spot in the valve cover and it somehow leaked down and looked like it was coming off my turbo and made a big trail down my downpipe and it took me until I took out the motor to see where it was comin from

ok so i just cleaned everyuthing up a little now im in the process of putting my ic piping back on and etc. in the piece of rubber i noticed there is a little thing inside of it, i think its the pcv valve??? not shure, but anyways i think that is suppost to let air in one ways but not the other not really sure.whenh i blow in it i can get air easily to the otere side both directions, not sure if this is my problem but if this isnt suppost to be liek this its something id liek to fix.

the way i had it set up (the rubber peice from the valve cover to the intake) is with the grommet inside closest, maybe 4-5 inches from the valve cover.

ok im gonna go put everyting but this back together thanks for all the help so far.matt

If you can confirm that it is comingout og the rubber hose attached to your exhaust side valve cover, then you're in a bit of trouble. You may be experiencing blow-by and with CA, if the rings are worn and you get on the gas hard enough, it'll spit oil out of that hole and all over your engine bay. So pay close attention before you misdiagnose your drama.

i didnt see any oil coming from there, i just noticed a wierd little thing inside it and was wondering about that, kinda went a little of topic i guess.

ok now for the funner stuff!!!1 large can of carb cleaner and a couple thousand brain cells later i beleive the turbo is defiantly bad, smoke is coming out of my exuast alot of it. the smoke coming from underneat my car is from a crack in my exhuast near one of the hangers. i guess thats what happens when you buy custom, premade exhzust seups from someone elses car lol. maybe its time for a new ebay special turbo back exhaust lol.

so im guessing the turbo just went becuase its been setting around for who knows how long and the seals probaly dried up or something. im gonna replace it with a standard sr t25, then make a new return line and i think that should solve the problem.

great suggestion dee to just clean the area up. you saved me 20$!!!

thanks guys.matt

oh for remving the turbo i heard its easiest to just remove the whole manifold and turbo as one pice, does anyone have any objections lol?
