I drove from my hometown to New York City and parked the car in a garage. I switched off the engine, forgetting to put back the gear to Park. And this is an acceptable mistake for someone who always drove Honda's or other Japanese cars, and if I had a hard ignition key, it wouldn't let me remove the key or turn it back to an ignition position when turning off the engine, and leaving the gear engaged. But in this case, I left the vehicle, not paying much attention to the VERY DISCRETE alarm (as I repeated this several times to see that factually this is the way Infiniti cars are designed). The car was on a slight slope and started to move. I fortunately left the driver's door opened and an attendant had the reflex to run and jump into the car to stop it. Now. What if the car is in the street? And the same slope would allow such a thing to happen? Can it kill, literally kill someone? What do you say to this?
