My 2009 Versa sedan has also started the same pattern as yours. What is puzzling is why is it fine when it sits overnight; it seems to me that it would have bled off more fuel pressure overnight and be very hard to start. Since it only does it warm or hot I wonder if it has something to do with the change to summer gasoline formulation.Promise Land wrote:Over the last week or so my car is hard to start when it's hot and been sitting for 20-30 minutes. If it's cold, like in the morning, or when I leave work, it's fine. Looks like I may have the dreaded problem. I thought I was going to be safe.
I had mine replaced under warranty in Sept 09 and it never smelled like fuel in my vehicle.Knightro2 wrote:Mine went out. It didn't matter if it was cold or hot. It would take 10 seconds or so of crank before the engine would turn over. Or, I could crank it for 2 seconds. Stop, the crank again and it would go.
I was out of warranty by then. It cost me about $150 - $200 from what I remember. Just be prepared to have the inside of your car smell like gas for a couple of days. They get to it by moving your back seat cushions.
Don't forget to bring the car in without a full tank; the tank under half full would be better and make it easier for the tech to remove the fuel pump and replace the regulator. How long did did yours start acting up hot before it acted up when cold.Promise Land wrote:Frank,
Mine started with it only being hot. This morning it cranked for about 10 seconds before it started. I made an appointment for next week to bring it in as it should be under warranty. I'll report back.
About a week and a half. Most mornings it's ok if I'm on a flat parking spot. My driveway has an incline on one part and it seems to drain back to the tank because of the incline.Francesco wrote:How long did did yours start acting up hot before it acted up when cold.
