Hello people, I am Dan. I've been lurking around nico for a few years now absorbing information, enjoying the many flame-jobs, and occasionally throwing in my 2 cents while I searched for an s13 of my liking. After selling my stupid big truck , I was vehicle-less for a good 10 months until I found this clean, rust-less, and mostly unmolested 1993 240sx...
..I know most of us on this forum are like 1st graders and would rather look at pictures than read words, so here's a few pictures.. :gapteeth:

I took the back seats and carpet out already to clean and dye.

Image
I hate the seats the last guy put in and Im also gonna get rid of the A pillar pod, they will be up for sale in the future.

The first things Im going to waste money on are new seats; probably corbeau A4's or megan racing recliners, coilovers, then some new shoes; Im thinking xxr 962s

Is that original paint? Pretty clean car, especially the ka, one of the cleanest I've seen... Good luck with the car!

A little update, my project is moving a lot slower than I hoped... Oh well

Image
180sx "type X" seats I got from JDM hookup, thanks Dewey!

Image
old nasty rice-tastic vinyl seats next to my new JDM goodness

Cusco's installed, car rides like a 1 ton truck, (this is my first car on coilovers) :mike

Next up is getting a new dash, and putting bed liner down in the trunk area, moving my antennae to the roof and putting in my cb.

It looks like you know what you want out of your car and it is coming along nicely! Keep up the good work!

Little update
While looking for a mode door motor at the junkyard I came across a perfect dash. I was expecting to pay at least 50-75 bucks for it, but they only charged me $20 for a dash, mode door motor, HVAC controller, wiper motor, seatbelts and wiper amp.

Drove the car like this for a few weeks untill I got some time off....Got some really weird looks
Image

Since my trunk carpet was beyond saving, and my last vehicle was a pickup truck, I decided to make the hatch area a mini truck bed.
First thing I did was cover the back of the seat.
Image
Image
Image

Took the sound deadening out, preparing for bed liner.
Image

Used roll-on Herculiner, this stuff is pretty strong and easy to use, just don't get it on you hands, It will not come off.
Image
Image

I still have to figure out what to do with a fuel pump cover and the side carpet panels.
Image
Now I can throw my bike back there, tools, transmissions whatever and not worry about screwing up the carpet.

Recovered the glove box and made a new shift boot and e-brake boot.
Image

Here is the interior as it sits now, I still have some work to do, but its lookin better and better.

1 quart of that stuff was enough for me to do 2 coats in the trunk, on the back of the seat and the side carpet panels :bigthumb:

A little update on my trunk area...I decided to take on making a fiberglass sub box to fit in the driver side corner of the hatch area.

Image
Masking off the area to get a base mold shape thing.

Image
the first layer

Image
started, filling in from the inside.

Image
after about 6 hours and a huge mess, I came out with this
Image
The box still needs to get sanded and painted...It's been surviving an 800 watt 10" sub for about a month now.

Now for the other end of the car! I found a "free" box of that black vinyl baseboard molding at my work so I decided to make a "lip" :gapteeth:
I glued two pieces back to back, and connected them to another two pieces with some rivets, liquid nail and some spring steel sheet metal and came out with this.
Image

I then drilled some holes, and secured the "lip" with some push rivets on the back side, and a bunch of speed nuts and #8 screws on the front side
Image

Image
this is what i ended up with

Image
I'm pretty satisfied with it, when I go over speed bumps or up driveways, it just folds up and pops back when im past it....plus it was FREE!!

Image
It looks a little goofy from the side, I really need to go lower, now that I got some new wheels for it...
