Yep - Nissan only uses like two different splines for their steering wheels since the late '80s. There are differences in the contacts on the back, though - make sure yours has the right number of contact rings or the airbags and cruise won't work.

sorry man cant help but laugh...... i was looking through yahoo japan and i was looking at this q and im saying to myself how phat the interior looks..so after about 20 minutes of saying to myself why does it look so good i finally gazed upon the steering wheel and noticed that it was a wood grain wheel. how is everything working out with the Qx4 conversion wheel...let me know how everything comes out..do you have an airbag or no? or atleast tried to fit one in yet...ohh yeah have you drivin the car with the new wheel on there and if so have you tried the cruise to see if it works or no? and what exactly did you have to mod to make it fit...?

Nice looking wheel, almost matches the dash wood kit.

Is that a Symmetry system I see in there?

hell yea it works its still one of the most advanced processing units out!!! i just hit my all time high db rating at my last sound off 164 dbs sunroof open. ill post a pic of what happens when its not! i havent driven the car yet cause the ft end got totaled but i just got my impul body kit in today so hope fully itll be back by next summer. im sure the cruse and everything will work cause i used my orginal unit but made it fit on the wheel. the only thing i really did what drill a new hole for the air bag aligners tab to fit . i also had to put a thick washer between the steering column and the wheel to prevent rubbing. the air bag situation will be: most likely the 01 qx4 bag is a differnt resistance than the 91 bag. so before i connected it and blew my head into my back seat i said hmm the air bag unit looks the same as the 91 bolt pattern wise, so just swap units... waiting to get the bag. everything should work out cause everything will be 91 other than the actual wheel and airbag cover. if you dont see any more respose to this itll be because the airbag went off and im in the hospital. ouch!!!

Symmetry was real nice, but RF went wrong when they tried to make just regular (price competitive) CD players.

Be intertested to see it when it's all done, so install it with the battery disconnected, and maybe it won't blow your head off?.

Has anyone tried installing a Y33 steering wheel on a G50? I hate the little horn buttons on my 1990 Q.

agree,I hated the little horn buttons on my g20- hard to hit the horn especially while in parking lots with the wheel cranked and someone is about to hit you- cant easily find the buttons when the wheel is turned- very unsafe design that in 151,000 miles of driving the g never " got used to"

Depends on if plug and play. I can get a used wood rimmed one for around $80 from a 2000 Q45 so not exactly a major expense and like they say if you can save only one life....
