So I started playing Warcraft again this weekend.

I had nothing to do, so I picked up my warrior alt, that was 50, and levelled it to 58 over the weekend just to get to outland. I swear, I may need an intervention. Hopefully I can keep the raiding bug from biting me so I can keep my social life together.

I haven't played in months. I imagine when WotLK comes out in the fall I'll get back into it. Maybe. I dunno, I don't have time for such a time-consuming game these days. I really haven't had the slightest urge to play it in months...

So long as I don't start raiding, I can put the game down to go hang out with friends when they call. Raiding was my biggest problem when I was really active pre-BC. I'd cancel just about everything to go farm MC and BWL. And being in our first groups for AQ20/40 and Naxx was an honour in our guild, so I was always happy to get into those groups and be there for the first boss kills.

The best thing I ever did was quit paying Blizzard and started on a free server with Blizzlike settings. It plays exactly like the Blizzard servers, it actually has less lag, less crowded, and its free so I dont have to feel like I need to play in order to get my money's worth. I rarely play now, but thats because I cant keep interested in one thing for very long (which sucks if you like MMORPGs). It's nice to be able to go back every few weeks and pick up where I started off, with all my money in my bank account.

my boss went from a casual guild downing the first 2 on hijal to main tanking the server first downing of the twins in sunwell (in t4 and badge gear :-o ) and actually plays less than he did in the casual guild.

i call shennanigans on that one. ain't no way for him to tank sunwell in t4 gear unless he only had one piece of t4 gear. badge gear is t5/t6 equivalent so that must make up the majority of his gear. anyways, i'm starting to see how time consuming raiding is. cutting back as we speak...............

No comprendas?I used to play wow, i've stopped, and honestly never plan to play that game again. it's addictive, but boring as all get out but you pay for it so you feel like you have to play. No thanks.

what servers are you fellas on? I am in Bleeding Hallow. Since I bought my 240 I have been considering finishing my hunter and just selling the account. Dont have a lot of time for PvP and such anymore. and even if i did I would rather be either driving or working on it.

Yes.

I don't like MMOs AND I don't like superheroes. Nothing appealing in that game for me.

Only reason I played WoW was because it's a Blizzard RPG.

Yeah look him up on armory. He had his 4-piece bonus still at that point I think. But then everything else was badge pretty much. Aeronelle, he plays on Stonemaul. He is much more geared now as they've been farming BT, Felmist, Brutalis, The Twins, and whatever the other boss is before the twins. Right now he's in the process of spening 100g a night on repair bills wiping on Muru.

I started playing again a few days ago. Picked a great day, too. Later that morning, the Midsummer Festival stuff went active. I've been having a LOT of fun with the seasonal quests.I really like what Blizzard did for the festival. I've never paid attention to it before this year, so it could be old hat, but for me it was new and surprising. The quests actually encourage world PVP, which is something I think Blizz should be doing a lot more of.This evening I decided to give the Steal the Flame quests a try. These are the ones that have you sneaking into the opposing capitals to steal part of their festival bonfire. Stealing it is a 5-second cast action, so it can be tricky. With my early-outland geared 65 Hunter, Undercity and Thunder Bluff flames were cake. The Undercity bonfire is easiest to get to: right inside the main surface entrance to the city. I walked in to find several hordie players there, but none of them bothered me. One undead ran circles around me while I "opened" the flame, then I left.Thunder Bluff would have gone just as flawlessly if I hadn't fallen to my death. Twice. Epic mount got me past the 3 whole guards I passed, and the rest was cake.Orgrimmar was a lot harder. No outrunning the guards here, because players in Orgrimmar actively tried to stop me, then waited for me to spawn. I didn't bother fighting; poorly geared 65 vs 70s and npcs is impossible. I outsmarted them by rezzing out of sight and immediately shadowmelding (nelf). The second time I died, I made it to the flame, so I rezzed behind a building. The INSTANT my corpse disappeared, a 70 Orc who'd been stalking me since I entered the city dashed off to look for me. But he didn't go behind the building, so I dropped down to the bonfire, was left alone by the remaining horde players, grabbed the token thing, and left. Died again on the way out (another hunter found me and concussive shotted me, then the trail of guards caught up), but I have 3 of the 4. Once you get the 4th, you get a Midsummer Crown (or whatever the name is) that you can't get any other way (plus you get 25 tokens per flame stolen).

Anyway, I've been having fun rather than the game feeling like a chore, which is excellent. Tomorrow I'll try the Silvermoon one. I can't imagine not being able to do it after Orgrimmar, though. Might die, but it'll be worth it.

EDIT:Got the last one. Silvermoon was cake. Ran in, grabbed it, ran out. Easiest one of all.
