So 3 weeks after I ordered my car, the dealership calls me up and to what I thought was going to be a delivery date on my new coupe, but rather turns out that Nissan cancelled my order and is telling me that they refuse to build my coupe. Horse****! THey said they are canceling all special orders because they are approaching the 09 models. So if I want to have the car with the packages I want I will have to order an 09 and the price will be set at MSRP with high interest rates, no rebates or incentives. The dealer was on the phone with them bitching because i ordered it in may and they said the cut off date was the start of June. So they looked to see if any models were similar to what I order and they could turn it into my car. none were.

So they are now asking the dealer to call back in one week and see if it is a possibility then... why would it be any different?

My dreams are being shattered. I would have to wait another year to get the deal I received on this one.

I guess this is the price ya pay for wanting a 6-speed manual transmission.

I called the dealer back and the sales manager gave me a little more detail about what was going on. It turns out that even if they can't get it in for an 08 model, I will get an 09 for the same negotiated price as the 08. The dealer just does not know how that will effect him as he does not know if the prices will drop or raise. I did get confirmation from him and distribution that the 09 will not have any differences from the 08. just tightened up a bit.

Although now I have to wait even longer as they are going to be 4 weeks behind schedule with my car.... may effect my trade mileage allowance.

How is Washington State by Pittsburgh? Little WaRshington, PA is close. Did you try West Hills Nissan (266-9020 still goes through my head, lol)?

I know the dealership in Altoona had a 3.5 6-speed...you should be able to find one in PA, but the color may not be what you want...Silver and Black in 6M/T seem to be the only thing I can find...

but i am absolutely not willing to budge on a single option. If im spending 30 grand on something its gona be EXACTLY what i want.

I actually had to get mine driven up from Cincinnati to just east of Cleveland (yes I live here now, don't worry there's still more Pittsburgh fans in Cleveland than Brownies fans)....anyway Courtesy in Altoona just got rid of a Black 3.5 6m/T Premium Package...

So which is the closest to ya (or better yet which part of 'da burgh)

Obviously Altoona and Johnstown aren't that close (but not that far either), I have had good dealings with Arbuckle out in Indiana, PA...I'd also look at Faulkner out in Harrisburg...

A dealer should call every where from DC to Buffalo to Detroit if they want to get you a car...I almost got one up around Oswego, NY...(obviously it would have been driven down here)

EDIT:Just called my dealer and he reassured me that the car would be delivered as expected. He told me the order was in and no one could stop it at this point. Then tried to pitch the auto to me again lol. Hope he isnt blowing smoke up my unowhat

Guess I got lucky when I got mine. I had my previous car get stolen so I was waiting for insurance to hook me up with a settlement. I found the car I wanted while I was waiting (I think there were about five 3.5 6MTs in the Chicagoland area, but only one that had the packages I wanted). Unfortunately, the dealer sold the car before I could buy it (it was Dark Slate and I would have liked that color - although now I see it all the time). Once I got the settlement money, I went back and tried to have them find me another car (and not upsell me on the navigation as I was planning on ripping out the stereo anyway). Fortunately, there was a silver manual coupe with the options just right about 90 miles away. Had the car next day and have been loving it ever since. 6MT FTW!
