I'm thinking of changing my mount setup simply because of the wobbley shifter issue. I have the tophat kit; excellent for a cheap kit, but after having the engine in for almost a year already, they have started to get weak I guess. I know the mount thread and the member mount poll thread is a good source for alternatives, but I was just ranting a little bit while im at work and am curious if any of you have ever thought about switching your setup.

I dont want the feel of solid mounts tho. Got them in the evo and even with the engine dampener the car feels like its freakin full race. All the change in the dash goes crazy when starting in 1st etc....

Discuss.....

I had full solid mounts in the last car and I can tell you it wont be near as bad as your Evo. An I6 engine is much smoother than any 4cyl. I really enjoyed driving them, but the drivetrain noise at a somewhat low RPM with some load got a little loud and embarrassing with girls in the car. All that said, Im making my own chromoly tubular xmembers this time and will use Nismo mounts this time around.
