1) $7,000 for a 97 SE is a frickin steal, make sure nothing's wrong with it.

2) rear conversion would require a lot of custom body work considering how it is completely differnt than the s14's back. The front isn't cheap either... around $3000. If you have a ton of money to spend, great, but otherwise I doubt you will be able to do it. It's for the better though, you need to stick an sr20 in there so you can go faaassssttt :)

Bah, just leave it. the kouki headlights are mean as hell. sure the s15 is bada$$ too, but not worth it unless you have gobs of cash to throw around.I don't know but isn't that mileage a little high for a 97? it doesn't matter tho cuz it's hard as hell to find that car in any condition and the price is still pretty good. Jump on it if everything else looks good cuz it will go fast. is it 5 speed or automatic?

180 tails on an s14 would be damn near impossible. Lots of body modification.

a little more free advice. don't get too far ahead of yourself. get the car first. It's great to have ideas and plans, but make sure you research so you know what you are getting into. also searching the forums will give you lots of info on how much stuff costs, how hard it can be, and what's possible. check outhttp://www.limecreekmotorsports.com/and http://www.afterdark-tuning.com/ for an idea of what costs what.

Yeah I think of this kids parents are buying him a 7k car he has some money to pitch at it...and with that in mind..

WHY SR?? If you have the money, drop and RB series in there. More power and when that guy in the eclipse asks you if you've done the SR swap and you tell him you're running and RB he won't even know what the hell you are talking about, and then you'll smoke him. There are 2 good reasons to go RB.

Could always go the CA18det route you know the ricers won't know what that is. indeed indeed. although an engin that old in a car so new would be wierd. :batman

ah you dont want a wimpy 1.8 L motor those size motors are for civics and yugos! youll never get 200hp ,or anything near that out of one! its not possible, and every one knows they are so much harder to find parts for then any other motor on the planet cause they are just as old as retop SR motors!

hmm sorry... not to sound like an *******.... but wow i hate how all the rich kid's mom will pay for just about everything... wtf people be taking so many stuff for granted and not appreciate the true feeling of buying and taking care of your car by yourself.

Then just buy a 96 or 96 s14 and save your parents $3000-$4000 bucks (the only reason to buy 97 and 98 240sx are for the kick *** rare headlights they have on 'em)

Trust me, my freind has a s14a (98) and i would punch him in the face if he got a headlight conversion. It is a very slick looking car.

Look how awsome the car looks completely stock! (but very clean of course)

Just out of courisity, why won't your parents by you a 5-speed?? That makes me wonder if they would let you swap the motor or mod it at all!!

They dont believe that i can drive a stick. but I have many friends that all drive or know how to drive stick that have taught me and are still teaching me.

They will let me mod it but i have to pay for it all. unless i convince them otherwise. im working on getting them to buy me the conversion but i dont know about the swap. that prolly wont happen for quite some time. :(

BUT GOOD NEWS!

my mom got the vehicle report on the one i picked out and it all check out fine. only thing that worries her is that is spent some time in new york and indiana. it only been in GA since 2000. but no worries its off for my dads approval as we speak. any way has anyone seen those do-luck rims? BAD *** i think those are what im gonna get......... cool cool

and the only reason my parents are buying me a car is because i made the grades and got to rest of the **** my parents wanted me to do.....

I LOVE MY PARENTS:oface

oh and dont worry.... my car will be my baby.......so dont cry about how kids have no respect for their vehicles cause they dont buy it themselves. I intend on putting a lot of money into this. infact the sole reason i got a job was to fund my project car (a.k.a 1st car i get......lol) so i will have a lot of repect for my ride.

and now that you mention it i do kinda like the 98 heads and i may not change it. decisions decisions lol

Yeah I was wrong anybody who had one of those would just be insane what withthe ca18et being interchangable and such. people must be morons for wanting it. haha. actually Ive been wondering about how much is interchangable with the ca18et and det.
