There's a website showing you how to do this. All you have to do is take off the hardline to the dampner. Take off the hardline from the dampter to where it is connected to the rubber line. Bend carefully the hardline that goes into the dampner so that it fits into the rubber line going into the slave cylinder.

There are stainless lines that bypass the dampener. I believe Nismo even makes one, but of course it's subject to the cool Nismo logo surcharge. ;)

There *are* other companies out there that make lines just to bypass that stupid dampener.

Thanks, I'll check into Nismo, anyone else know any places?

there's nismo, takamotorsports, and another brand out there that's pretty popular, forgot their name though.

its not like its hard to just look at it and think "i bet it would go into the slave cylinder with just a minor bend". bleh. cmon now. take some initiative people.

I took that initiative but i was afraid i might break the hardline, i'm no expert on metal ability to flex before it breaks. So i'd rather have a stainless steel braided line

the hardline will break after like 10 or so bends at the same spot. The only thing you have to worry about is pinching it, just bend it carefully and you'll be fine. You almost have to be a complete idiot to pinch it. The cost of this mod is some time while the stainless is about 70 bucks.

It'll break once you bend it back and fourth to the point where it pinches, it'll then break at the pinch, if you bend it slightly all along the whole line to where you want it, you'll be fine. I've done 4 240's already, although I have not yet figured out what benefit this is, definately easier to bleed. That's about it, I kinda hate the vibration I get from the clutch pedal as I push it in. Ok, not so much as a vibration but you can feel like you're scrapping metal against metal as you push in the clutch.

I ordered a stainless steel braided line from K2RD so we'll see how that goes. http://www.k2rd.com/products/stainlesslines.html#

no, i made this mod hassle free, instead of having to bend it a bunch and perhaps break the hardline i have to bend it very little and connect the new line, i'd rather pay 30 bux than worry about a broken hardline.

not to say anyone here is cheap. but you can get a metal tubing bender for about 5 bux. produces nice smooth bends. 10 bux more will get you a flaring kit. this way you can shorten the hardline a little and re-flare the end to fit the fitting.
