damn starting proplems

ok guys i have a proplem.... my car wont start, i had it starting today and went to applebees with the family well i go out to start it and it just click i reaplaced teh ignition pack and all the thing connected to that about a week ago and ther wired up great.... i also checked the ground to the engine from the stater that is pluged in so i dont know if its the alternator/starter or what its just click over all the lights are working and teh feul pump is engaging. so give me a few things i can check at a parking lot or tell me if i sould just send it in to a mechanic.

jumpstart the car. a click is usually the starter and if you can jumpstart the car then the problem is the starter. And if your headlights, dashlights, radio are working then your alternator is fine.

well i tried getting a jump from my friend who picked me up that didnt work at all so i donno what else could it be

are you talking about jumping your battery? im talking about put the car in gear and with the clutch in get a fast roll going (people pushing you) and you pop the clutch out and it should start up

ok so i roll start it and if that works that means its the starter

correct...i call it a jump start sorry for the misunderstanding dont know its correct term..push start jump start i dont know but it should work for you it sounds like your problem

also if it is the starter can the ka starter be put in or do i have to buy a sr stater and how much do those cost also could it be the relay

what you should do is have the starter tested to make sure its bad once you get the car home...i believe i have heard of the sohc ka starter being able to work with the sr but not sure..I had mine rebuilt for 100 bucks
