So monday night is bowling night for me, about 10 guys go every week and the ride back home is at 1ish in the morning and I94 is FREE, open road= extreme fun. Usually I bring the RX7 out monday nights but its in the fix for a couple of weeks so I took the Altima out.

This time, there were only a bunch of hondas, an RSX-S, an 04 SI hatchback and a freaking civic LX. I didn't want to play with hondas but they pushed it first so I followed. Once the RSX-S started pushing it, I cut him and flew, went quite far ahead but once i hit 120 MPH the CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING, so in the long run, it seemed like i lost to a freaking RSX which is not what a VQ is suppose to do.

Man... I didn't want to void my warrenty and put in a GT Tuner but now its got me thinking---

HOW MANY WARRENTYS AM I GOING TO BREAK BY INSTALLING THE GT TUNER?

GT Tuner gives you the ability to return it to stock parameters supposedly, I am not sure if it is detectable after that.

how many? i'd say all of them that have anything to do with mechanics of the car since it'll no longer be limited to it's factory speed and who knows how fast you'll be going.

Could this be because the the throttle got limited and didnt allow wot or anything close to it at that speed.

I know it's more then 120 mph. I've hit 210 kmh (130 mph) and she still wanted to show me more had I let her.

ive gone over 120 so many times that i cant even count.... its not limited at 120 BUT that gradual limiter kicks in and the car just feels soooooo slow after 120.... i hit 120 pretty fast and to go from 120 to 130 it took about as long as it took to go from 0 to 120.... (SLIGHT exaggeration).

Yea, what i meant was it was excruciatingly slow to get it to speed up more after 120ish.

What i'm really concerned about is the CVT. Is the transmission warrenty going to be voided? (I would believe so) AND IS IT DETECTABLE IF I SET IT BACK TO STOCK SETTINGS?

honestly, i run my car straight piped (exhaust cut-out open) almost all the time and i floor the gas pedal all the time, race all the time, have been to the track several times launching it and thrashing it and it runs like a champ.... ricky even has a Turbo on his from what he says, hes ALWAYS getting on it and flooring the gas and having fun and he hasnt had any issues.... so my guess is that you will have absolutely no issues.... im no mechanic, but thats my opinion.

doesn't sl come with different size wheels and tires for comfort? and if i'm not mistaking they're speed rated lower then the ones on se model hence the speed limiter on sl is lower then on se.

The 3.5SL came with 16" T rated tires, thus the need for the same speed limiter as the 2.5's have...the 3.5SE has V rated tires...
