what the hell man.

I bought this ka and the valve cover was loose, found out 5 of 8 bolts were stripped out the head, and so it was loose, so I fixed that and bought a new valve cover gasket..

So I tried starting it and heard a loud noise.. and no start.

Take it back off and find this..

No I did..It ran but the valve cover gasket was blown and 5 bolts holding the cover was stripped in the head.

So...I did look, It ran, but once I bolted the valve cover down with new bolts it banged off the valve cover and broke.

i feel for you man. that has to suck a great deal of a**.

my favorite one was when i bought a ka24de head. everything looked great so i threw it on the block. i get done with the button-up and all i had left to do was put in new sparkplugs...

...well apparently the head had been previously overheated, to the extreme that the plug wires and plastic melted on top of the plugs. making it impossible to get a plug socket there.

if only i had seen that before i put every last bolt on. if i had, it would have been a simple fix. i mean, it was but i just had to do 2 complete head teardowns instead of the one. talk about labor intensive.
