ok i searched and results are only available for the rb20det. I took my rb25det out yesterday and when i parked it i noticed that there was no damn alt belt. So i looked up a replacement # on the forums and found one for an rb20det from napa 040335, it had the 4 rib setup and looked about the right length. That is untill i put it on. It squeals alot and i don't like it. So i'm not sure that it's really compatible at all. I don't wanna buy the damn power enterprise belt cause i'm cheap but has anyone sourced a compatible belt and if soo why haven't you put the damn numbers in the sticky forum. I appreciate anyone's response and thanks for reading this post.

Did you tighten it up properly?

If you got a belt with the right number of ribs and properly tightened it then it should not squeel. If it does, it usually means that one of the accessories on that belt has gone bad. In your case, probably your alternator.

the alternator belt is a touchy whore, its very sensitive to the tightness of the belt. it needs to be tight to make it quiet.

Well the alternator is working fine cranks out 15vdc and i did leave the alt belt loose last night because i feared i would break this one. The last one i did i was nice and tight and didn't have any problems at idle but when i drove off it must've had an issue. Any of you guys know a good part number from a local parts store that is good for fit?

fasten it real tight. you don't wait it to be loose, because it drives your water pump too. you don't want your engine to over heat--do you?!? don't underestimate those belts, they are tough and won't break that easy.
