I attempted to install a PAC AAI-NIS2 for an AUX input in my 2004 G Coupewith factory Bose, no SAT installed but unit does have SAT button.

Using the info provided in the excellent write-up for installing an iPod at(http://g35ipod.com/installHW.php?skin=1) I took the dash apart and pulled the factory Bose stereo pretty easily.

Once I did, I tried to remove the plug for what I thought was the SAT. In doing so I crushed the plug and all of the wires came loose. After removing and destroying the plug I found that the 12 pin SAT plug on the NIS2 would not fit in where I just removed the factory plug.

The plug on the unit has 12 “pins/pin holes”, while the radio has 12 (I think) flat “posts/post holes” which are similar to those on the 10 pin Main Plug. The posts from the radio will not plug into the pinholes in the 12 pin SAT plug.

I called PAC today and they said the plug I removed is not for the SAT but rather the rear speakers. They said there is a seperate connection for the SAT and that it should not have had a cable connected to it as I do not have SAT installed (wish they had mentioned that in the installation directions).

Given the above I have a few questions for which I could not find any answers online. If anyone can answer any of the following it would be greatly appreciated.

1. Can anyone confirm the plug I pulled is for the speakers and not the SAT?2. Does anyone have, or know where I can find, a drawing/schematic for the factory unit? (It would be nice to be able to view the rear of the radio without removing the dash and stereo.)3. Where can I find a replacement plug (SAT or speaker depending on which one it is) for the one that I broke, without having to replace the entire wiring harness?4. Since putting the dash back together the HVAC is stuck on and none of the controls work to turn it off. Any ideas what may have caused this? The factory plug not being plugged in? A loose connection from removing the dash panel?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Here's the link to the FSMs for your car:

Not sure which one is the stereo...just download them all. (pdf docs)

A replacement plug can probably be found here: http://www.trademotion.com/par...id=55

If your HVAC is stuck, you probably have a faulty AC board, a common problem with 03-04 G35s. Try these guys: http://www.shortcircuitrepair.com/
