WATING ON SOME MEGAN HEADERS TO COME IN, CAN THIS LINE BE SALVAGED WITH A CONNECTOR AND RUBBER HOSE OR WILL THE HEAT MELT THE CRAP OUT OF IT, FOR THAT MATTER , WILL THE LINE EVEN HOOK UP TO THE NEW HEADERS, THEY CAME OFF EBAY

I figured as much , but hadn't checked sources to see what they would cost, but how will it run without it being hooked up, better, worse or what

Many have blocked it off (EGR blockoff plate on back of intake mani).

So should be some people out there with it to sell you (or give you free).

If left open you would have a vaccum leak = run like crap.

Just disconnect vacuum to the EGR. Then you can just leave everything the way it is now.

It sounds to me like you still have the engine in the car and are interested in a quick fix... Personally, I always thought it would be a b**** to remove the EGR crap while the engine was still in the car... seems like a lot of people who posted have never attemped this. Very little room to work.

If you need a quick fix for a while, you can just connect the two pipes back together with a high temp radiator hose. It will smell for a little while, but thats about it. After that it should have NO PROBLEM sealing it up. I had to do it on a car back in the day when I had to do a head gasket.

Otherwise, grab a bolt. Bend that pipe up a bit and stick the bolt in. Then go ahead and JB weld around the bolt to seal it off. Do this to both sides.

Jiggy rigged? Yup, but it will work just fine. And it saves you a big headache for a while.

You're right the engine is still in the car, I get sealing off the pipe at the exhaust side, but when u say both ends, I'm lost, if I had access to both ends the pipe wouldn't be attached, isn't it enough to seal the damaged end and leave everything else in place

I said both sides thinking you were putting the stock manifold back on and didnt want a leak on either side. but just go ahead and cap off the one side and you are good to go! The new exhaust headers will either A) Have NO SPOT for that emissions pipe to go in or B) Have that hole and have a plug in it already.

So as long as you plug that ONE END of the pipe sticking out on the exhaust side, you are good to go!
