I had the Carbon Creations hood and a friend of mine went off the road and it damaged the hood but not to bad I was wondering if they are repairable. I have some pictures but they are from a camera phone and not to great. Basicly one the front the clear coat is gone in about a golf ball size area and then around the front bents there are spider cracks in the clear coat. I got it replaced by my insurance company but was seeing if it could be repaired so I could sell it. Also how do I post the pictures?

make a photobucket account... and follow the instructions on there.... you you could have the clear stripped and redone.... and sell it.... local would be best as shipping would suck.....

How much do you think that would run to have it repaired?

This is the spider cracks I was talking about around the vents.

This is the majority of the damage and the deep gash in the clear coat.

I don't know but you can send it to me and I will go get it fixed and keep it on my car....

I would try to sell it like that and get a shop to give you a repair estimate to see if it would be worth fixing or get it to someone like me who would paint it all but the inside the vents and then have the whole thing re cleared

Yes its repair-able. Its going be like $100-$200 because they have to completely sand it almost to the carbon fabric then reclear.

If you want to sell it P.M. me, i'll get it fix right away.

Wow,..I was about to say crazy...you're gonna undercut a fellow alti brother...and one that is serving our beloved country so you can drive around in your alti safe and sound Glad to see you were just kidding bro..

Mike,..Just a thought..how much would that hood cost shipped to you from ED? Doing the math, he wants $250 and and assuming it'll cost 200 EURs to ship that's $286.46 so no you're up to $536.46 USD and that doesn't include the cost of repair... It's your money man but I think you'd be better off buying new from ED and having it shipped to you.

Fixing the spider cracks is more than just shooting clear on it. The top coat resin is cracked and to fix that you'll need to rebuild that area. There's a lot of work involved in repairing this.
