DAM TACH! i need help badly! ive searched!!!!!!

car: 90' s13 w/rb25. ive checked my tach signal out of pin #7 and ive read that you are suppose to be gettin about .6v-1.0v out of it.. but i have nothing at all.. btw my stock tach does not work at all, ive heard that some people get a reading of about 1X too much or sumthing, anyways i tried hooking up my aftermarket tach up to the CAS wire going into pin #41 and i got a signal but very unaccurate, then i tried it on the other three CAS wires #51-52-42 should i be getting a signal out of those? im thinking maybe im not getting a CAS signal out of them causing no tach signal. but i dont know im so confused!! please anyone help me!!!!

I think your problem is the tach been a SOHC unit. a DOHC unit will at least show something when it's hooked up.

Question- If you have NO signal coming from the CAS or the ECU how is the Tach supposed to read it?

I have the same exact problem.Mine used to work but then it was re-wired again and doesn't work anymore.I also have a DEFI tach along with my stock tach.

My harness is now at the second guy wiring it again for me.

I belive Opelok has the same problem as us.

thanks for the help guys.. im gunna take a look into an inductive pickup tach.. cuz thats what they used on my car when they dynoed it. anyone ever used one?
