Summer is around the corner and I am getting ready to get some summer wheels on my new M. I found some that I like the style, but I never heard of the brand. The wheels I am interested in are made by Dakar and they are called the accent wheel. I want to match the black accents to my Diamond Graphite paint. They are available in 20 X 8.5 or 20 X 9.

What size wheel should I get for the front/back. If these are not reliable, does anyone know anything similar?

I would be very concerned about the fitment in the front. Recently, I went in there a bit to check out the clearance for snow chains and was unpleasantly surprised to see so little distance to the suspension components and this was with a 18x7.5" wheel with 245/45-18 tires.

With anything much wider, you'd have to use a lower offset - like a 30mm or so, and that would stick out under the fender too much, I think.

While I know you are interested in these wheels, my suggestion would be to spend that free cash on the best tires you can get. So, why not try out Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 for the stock rims you now have? You may find that the handling and quiet ride of that tire way surpasses any thought of the looks of a 20" rim!

Jbillion,

Nice looking wheel ! Take note of my sig below to get an idea of what I'm working with. Your suggestion would be near the perfect staggered setup (20x8.5 front & 20X9 rear) and/or 20x8.5 all around. Any good tire shop will get you the best possible offset. good luck

Thanks CD! I love the double black, but I couldn't pass up the deal I got on mine..Diamond Graphite with Graphite Interior...1 owner 42K miles and the elite warranty for $18K out the door. Do you suggest I get the springs before I get the wheels?

Springs first…..Not a bad idea, that es what I did, but the million dollar question is WHAT SPRINGS? They are impossible to get with the exception of the teins from Japan. I had an extra set of eibachs, but I've melted them down and made a necklace.

good luck keep us posted

Never heard of them.....and I've dealt with so many wheel companies.

They look like cheap knock-offs so I'd stay away from them.

Teins are not the only set of springs that you can get from japan. There are many others.

Please refer to the thread below. Decent drop, no finger gap all round, even.

Thanks Mr. Mark. I never heard of them either and could not find a lot about them by doing Google search. I saw them at the hand carwash by my house (I would never by wheels from a car wash) and liked the style but was not familiar with the brand at all. With the wieght of the M, I want quality rims that I dont have to worry about bending.

Good luck with your choice. WORKs Wheels of Japan has always made wheel styles to fit the Y34 Nissan Cedric/Gloria so you can look through their styles and be assured a true fit and adequte strength. (Note* the Cedric & Gloria weigh a bit less than the Infiniti M45 because we have an 8-cylinder engine, but the weigh difference isn't soooo dramatic that it would propose a problem).

I've owned 18" WORKs Euroline KH's imported into America for my Toyota Supra Turbo which was a full 3650+Lbs car and I live in Pothole-Hell (Philadelphia PA). I never had a bend and the wheels were purely gorgeous.
