Daily Driver needs to firm up 2009 G37XS highway handling - Rear Sway Bar?

Shocks, springs, sway bars, coliovers, bushings, brakes, wheels, tires - This is the place to discuss G-Series suspension modifications!

I know what a sway bar does, and the thicker rear bar I put in my Mini Cooper was well worth it. I've always understood them to reduce oversteer in fast corners, by reducing roll.

But in the G, while changing lanes at 75mph the car feels 'floaty', I think its rolling, but maybe its bouncing. Handling is otherwise excellent.

It's only been driven 500 miles but already I'm wondering if a rear sway bar will reduce this effect. I'd rather not go the strut/spring route, and want to put 150,000 miles on this car.

What do you guys think of your own rides and what would you recommend?

Thicker rear bar reduces UNDERSTEER, and actually increases oversteer. It's usually a good modification b/c most street cars are delivered with a built-in understeer for safety. A front bar does the opposite (reduces oversteer).

Floatiness is all shocks and struts. If you want to button the car down you need to look at shocks and struts. Sway bars will not change that at all.

Yeah I think you're right.. after more highway driving I can see that. Bummer, there doesn't seem to be anyone offering kits for the 09 sedan.

Does anyone know if the G37S sedan's springs/struts are a direct-fit for the G37x AWD?

(I sometimes get my understeer/oversteer terminology mixed up )
