And requoting this because this is exactly the face I just gave. Cmon guy dont make Nissan owners look bad. You cant do 180'z in a civic and expect a rwd car to act in the same way. Practicing on ONE corner at 25mph is not practice. I mean go in a giant abandoned parking lot and set up cones or enter in a drift practice event or something. All you have asked for is where can you find jdm parts with no idea what parts you are planning on getting first. Come up with an idea and plan on what you want if you really want to try it, perhaps even a price range you are looking to spend. Please ask for advice in a civilized manor with commas and periods for the love of christ, and without me picturing you throwin yo hands up wen u be talkin y0, and we would be happy to point you in the right direction. Ive already told you to look around the forum so you know what your getting into. Do your part so we can help you.MellowS13 wrote:![]()

Why buy a used "JDM" piece when you can buy a equal or better quality NEW part in America for equal or less cost?
It seems like you have the right intentions, but it seems like you are just to eager and arent willing to take this time to research and learn the basics.
I know your so pumped up to build your car "from the ground up"... but you will fail if you dont put in the proper research...
Or just drop the car off and pay someone who knows what the hell their doing to build it for you...
I just wanna point out ebay is not a junk site for parts you just have to watch what you get off of it like there cast manifolds are great, and flywheels are great, clutch aem, fpr tomei, etc theres good prices and its convienent if u already use ebay just make sure you ask us on here if the brand of part ur getting is junk or the real thing good luckalms24sebring wrote:wow... not a single period or comma in that entire thing. Oh boy..
Well if you want to go straight jdm tyte on this beotch, then SR20 is what you want. Whatever you do, just dont ebay any part that has a function because it will break. You need lots of time and money and there are plenty of options out there, it depends on what you want to do first, my recommendations is to learn to drive first before you wreck on the street. There are plenty of vendors to on this site on the right hand side
I agree i drift every now and then in first gear and im pretty good at it, but you can not say you will never wreck, every road is different and handles different, if you plan on drifting a lot ur car will get bumped around if not the back end clip a corner, anyhow as for jdm use good parts, jdm is good for some parts but other brands are better for other things, and i have to disagree on the lsd for drifting because if your taking corners at 30mph with an lsd and u say your drifing your really sliding because theres no way both tires are spinning at even close to the same speed, as for true drifing get a welded rear or a spool, if u use a locked rear expect to wear tires every couple months if you drive a lot, and if your using it as a dd, get a spool so you dont have to worry bout a weld cracking and locking up the rear going down the highway. So yea sounds like a good plan, give a parts list or a build plan so we can help tell you what brand is best for that part.alms24sebring wrote:This.badbob2121 wrote:Why are you so set on "JDM" parts? Sorry for the flame but seriously you need a halfway decent plan on parts and needs. You cant just throw something together in a weekend and be a D1 master. And the fact is that if you drift, you WILL wreck. Dont question it. You might feel like your high and mighty but spinning out happens very quick and is uncontrollable. And dont tell me you drift and do donuts in a honda, cmon. Stop.
Anyways, drift coils and a LSD is a good start for practice (in a closed area). Also I recommend getting drifting tie rods so you can get a wider steer angle quicker. A clutch wouldnt hurt either if you have the money. Once you learn the car alittle and learn how to throw it in a corner, you could add power to go a bit faster. But, I agree with the quote I quoted, it doesnt have to be pure JDM to be cool. JDM parts are expensive, not to mention drifting breaks those expensive parts. But that doesnt mean ebay it up because ebay parts are very cheap and break just looking at them.
