Looking for the best daily driver suspension setup. Just bought a s14 rolling chassis and need to replace the suspension. Tips, answers, help is much appreciated. Thanks

This is actually a GREAT question.

Debating whether to get shocks&springs or go coilovers. Will be a DD with very minimal track time. Not looking to drop more than 2" either.

Leaning towards coilovers because I can run wider wheels/tires up front without the huge front springs there.

I'm looking for responsiveness with comfort for DD'ing.

I drove a coilover setup with the standard 5/7kg setup (s13- I think s14s are usually 6/8) and on a softer set of springs for a few summers. I'm reverting to spring/strut from a previous setup because I liked the ride better that way.
With Eibachs, I've previously fit 215 widths on 7.5" wide wheels, stockish offset. Not sure what size you're looking to run though. I will probably still have no problems running 225s on my BBSs with a lower offset.
Best bet is to find someone with coilovers on their car and ride a few streets with them. I wish I would have done that before I "upgraded"- I ended up hating the ride quality. I admittedly didn't get the best quality coilovers, but I doubt it would have been that different for the roads I drive (I've yet to track my car).

Tokico Blues with stock springs is a good setup for a daily driver.

Just going on what I have had experience with...

My old coupe had 15" rims with H&R springs and KYB GR2 shocks/struts. It was a very comfortable set up. The spring drop was not much and the comfort was most likely from the 15" rims. I loved that set up.

The hatch I currently have when it was a daily used to have 18" rims with Tein lowering springs and KYB AGX shocks/struts. That set up was incredibly rough, most likely from the rims/tires. However, even on the softest strut settings, the car barely had any movement.

I now have Function n Form coilovers with 17" rims. It's about perfect for my tastes. I do not daily drive the car anymore, but it is not as bad as when I had the 18" rims with the AGX.

Just my .02 cents

For a DD with very little track use, is any, 6K - 7K coilovers is perfect.
I have 18's with 205/40 tires and with 6K front and rear, it's perfect. The ride is smooth yet with little lean.
Keep in mind that I didn't cheap out too much on the coilovers and got some BC racing, so you most likely will get what you pay for.
Don't expect ebay brand 6K coilovers to have the same ride quality or durability of BC's or Teins....etc.
