There's so much of it out there these days, I thought I'd create a thread for it.

Example #1: School asks deaf preschooler to change his sign language name....Three-and-a-half year old Hunter Spanjer, who is deaf, signs his name by crossing his forefinger and index finger and moving his hand up and down.
To his family, friends and those who know the Signing Exact English (S.E.E.) language that the Grand Island, Neb., boy uses, that gesture uniquely means "Hunter Spanjer."
But to Hunter's school district, it might mean something else. The district claims that it violates a rule that forbids anything in the school that looks like a weapon, reports KOLN-TV.

If I were his parents, there would be no limits to the lengths I would go to to get the administrators in that district relived of their duties. F*ing idiots, breathing my good goddamn air. :tisk:

Wait...my brain just broke from the stupidity. How exactly does that look like a weapon? Is it cause it looks like someone's mimicking a gun? If so, do they punish people for pointing then?

Sue the school, vote out the board and all the idiots involved in writing and maintaining these policies.

There has to be an ADA law against this.

My first thought when I saw the thread title was that Nala had come back again. :chuckle:

But as far as the article, that is pretty off-the-charts stupid. I suppose If a Nebraska pre-school administrator considers a finger a deadly weapon, he should probably stay away from NJ where flashing one's middle finger is a daily occurance.

I think today if a little kid even draws a picture of a gun they are suspended, shipped to a hospital for mental evaluation and Family Social Services comes to your door to determine whether the child should be placed with a better parent.

Been like that for a while now. Hell, when I was in school I was regularly attacked by teachers when I told them I would be gone for a few days hunting. And some kindergarten girl was suspended a couple years back in my old elementary school because she had a plastic knife in her lunchbox.

Society is so backwards nowadays.

I used to draw guns and WWII airplanes shooting others and crap when I was little in school. No issues at all. Then again, I started pre-school in 1969.

My elementary school received a bomb threat.
I was in 1st grade and we got pulled out of class by screaming policemen.
Returned to school a week later.
In 4th grade there was a reported Hostile man with a gun roaming the building. We had to barricade the doors and hide in a corner.
In college now and just last week a man was assaulted walking to his car.
I keep My HKs within reach.

I remember one day of my Junior year, there were a bunch of students and a few teachers at the smoking area and they all had their knives out, showing them off. It never was an issue that a large majority of the student and teacher population all carried a (potentially lethal) weapon. Of course, this was long before the young people in this country went and lost their damn minds. :tisk:

"A Mesa mom faces child abuse charges after leaving her daughter in a park with strangers in order to satisfy her "sexual urges."

Witnesses told police 43-year-old Laura Lee Kelly left her 6-year-old daughter alone with transients for more than four hours on Tuesday. The witness also claimed the girl had no water and no escape from the heat, as many people floating through the park took turns watching her.

Court documents said Kelly bought beer for the transients and later asked them to babysit the girl while "she went to make money." She later told the officer she had sex with one man and performed oral sex on another.

She revealed to the officer she "felt a manic sexual rage inside of her which she cannot control and needed to have sex."

The court papers also show Kelly worked for Mesa Public Schools and was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of her arrest."

Make sure you click the link. Her mug shot is priceless. :rotfl

Dang, where were all of these sex obsessed teachers when I was in high school? j/k.

Quite a mug shot. Given her expression, she looks like she'd just as likely bite one off than what she said she did.
